Android 10 released for Google Pixel phones

Android 10 officially released for Google Pixel phones

Google is promising that it is “working with a number of partners to launch or upgrade devices to Android 10 this year.”google has officially launched Android 10 ending a month-long wait that precedeed when the company's next generation mobile operating system missed its August deadline. Google has started rolling out Android 10 on to Pixel smartphones, which includes all eight Pixel phones - Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL - and the company said that smartphones by other manufacturers will start getting the update later in the year.

In addition to the Pixel smartphones, Android 10 update is also available on Essential smartphones by Android creator Andy Rubin. The update, as Essential's Twitter page suggests, is available for select open market customers only. There are a few headline features in Android 10 beyond the new gesture system, including stricter permissions and privacy controls, a new “Focus Mode” for disabling distracting apps, similar notifications controls, better integrated family controls, and a new Dark Theme.

As far as features are concerned, Android 10 is loaded with functionalities.“Project Mainline” will allow Google to issue some critical security patches directly through the Play Store instead of waiting for manufacturers and carriers to distribute them. In fact, phones that are upgraded from Android 9 Pie to Android 10 won’t support it. While some like smart replies are intended at making it easier for users to respond to messages others like focus mode are aimed at helping users disconnect from the apps that distract them time to time.

Not all of Android 10’s features are fully available, however. Focus Mode is launching only in beta today. Another headline feature called “Live Caption” will allow users to get real-time captioning for any audio or video on their phone.Google has in store for you with Android 10, here are 10 things that will help you decode Google's latest mobile operating system. But unfortunately, it won’t launch until later this year, and it will be Pixel-only for a time.

Dark Theme: Android 10 finally brings a dark theme to Android's ecosystem.Gmail, for example, is still working on compatibility with the Dark Theme and won’t have support for it until later this month. According to Google it uses true Black to increase the battery life of a smartphone. What's interesting about the dark theme is that fact that users can either choose to implement it on a system-wide basis on in select apps that they like.

Nothing, however, that has attracted the most attention on Android 10 is the new gesture navigation system. It works largely on the iPhone, and in the beta phase of Android 10, it was added every few weeks. It is now fixed and has no changes, meaning that the entire left and right sides of the screen are dedicated to return. The traditional three-button system would still be an option, though, which is probably great because many people prefer it.

The 10th version of Android is also the first since nearly the beginning that doesn’t have a public dessert codename.Smart ReplyThis features  recommends users actions based on the messages that they have received. So when a friend sends a user a message with an address or a YouTube video, they can open and navigate the same in Google Maps or open up the video in YouTube without copying the URL.Google made the switch in the name of being more globally inclusive and not, it says, because picking a Q-named dessert was too difficult.
